He focuses on export controls, outbound investment screening, and dual-use technology controls. Prior to MIIS, he interned with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva on international business and human rights, and with Jinko Solar in Shanghai on UFLPA and sanctions due diligence. Zihao plans to build his career in U.S. trade compliance at the U.S.–China trade and technology nexus, working across AI infrastructure, semiconductors, and trade compliance.

How will the NCITD Scholarship help support you in your studies/prepare for your career?

The NCITD Scholarship provides valuable financial support during my final year at MIIS and allows me to focus on trade compliance work. I also value the chance to join the NCITD community and learn from practitioners in the field.

Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

In the near term, I see myself as a trade compliance analyst at a U.S. company in AI infrastructure. Over the next five to ten years, I hope to gain experience in both private compliance practice and U.S. public service, specializing in U.S.–China trade matters.

More About Me:

I bring multi-country work experience, trilingual proficiency in English, Chinese, and French, and professional and academic experience in trade compliance and export controls. I am actively seeking a summer or fall 2026 trade compliance internship with a company in AI infrastructure, with the goal of transitioning into a full-time analyst role after graduating in December 2026.
