How will the NCITD Scholarship help support you in your studies/prepare for your career?

The NCITD Scholarship will provide vital financial support for my continued studies at Johns Hopkins SAIS. In addition, it offers an invaluable opportunity to continue engaging with the trade policy community, allowing me to build connections that will support my long-term career goals. Regular NCITD meetings will further deepen my understanding of ongoing developments in international trade, helping me maintain a strong foundation of knowledge for future internship and job positions.

Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

I aim to build a career that leverages my joint U.S.-China background and my experience in examining trade policies to help address emerging challenges in global commerce, including protectionism, supply chain resilience, and shifting geopolitical alignments. I am particularly interested in supporting businesses and governments in navigating complex trade and regulatory networks, especially in developing countries at the intersection of rising geopolitical tension. This career trajectory includes think tank research, business consulting, and/or trade policy analysis at an intergovernmental organization.

More About Me:

During my time at the American Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, I assisted in analyzing and guiding U.S. companies through developments in trade policies and China’s business environment. This experience—alongside my academic studies, research endeavors, and past internships—has strengthened my commitment to promoting multilateral economic relations as imperative for broader international cooperation and stability. I am eager to apply my diverse background to roles that require cross-border insight and challenge me to expand the scope of my engagement with global commerce.
